ISLAMABAD: In compliance with directives from Interim Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar, Pakistan’s federal government has officially rescinded the appointment of Mohammad Raziq Sanjrani as the Managing Director of Saindak Metals Limited. The Ministry of Energy issued a notification on December 8, 2023, formally withdrawing Sanjrani’s position.

The notification, disseminated by the Petroleum Division, declared, “In accordance with the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s approval – following recommendations from the Establishment Division, and the Ministries of Law and Justice, and Energy – the appointment of Mr. Raziq Sanjrani as MD/CEO of Saindak Metals Limited, as per notifications 3(1)2008-SML dated October 27, 2008, and July 23, 2011, is hereby revoked with immediate effect.”

Furthermore, Imitaz Azam, Section Officer, has instructed the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company to urgently convene a board meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to undertake requisite actions in alignment with the prevailing company laws and the service rules of Saindak Metals Limited.

Meanwhile, sources close to the family told the Hum Investigation Team that the action taken against MD Saindak Metals Limited was illegal and that Raziq Sanjrani is a ‘victim’ of the Interim government’s political designs in Balochistan.

“We have all the legal right to fight against this political victimisation. The federal government is targeting MD Saindak Metals as part of a political vendetta,” said one of the family members of Raziq Sanjrani
