Bomb blast rocks mosque in Baghlan province, deaths feared

KABUL: A suspected bomb explosion shook the Imam Zaman Mosque in Pol-e-Khomri, Baghlan Province, during Friday prayers, prompting immediate concerns regarding casualties.

The precise nature of the explosion remains uncertain, although preliminary reports suggest the possibility of a suicide bomber detonating within the vicinity.

While unconfirmed casualty figures have emerged, with several fatalities reported, authorities are expected to provide more accurate numbers in the coming hours.

Mustafa Hashemi, the director of the Baghlan Information and Culture department, confirmed to TOLO News the occurrence of fatalities and injuries in the explosion.
