Bilawal advises Nawaz to pursue independent politics

KARACHI: In a bid to dispel any misconceptions about strained relations between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the country’s establishment, former Foreign Minister and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari conveyed a straightforward message to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday to “focus on Lahore”.

Speaking to the media in Tharparkar, Bilawal urged Nawaz Sharif to engage in politics independently without seeking assistance from any state institution.

Asserting his party’s focus on politics, Bilawal acknowledged the conducive environment for PML-N’s rise to power but emphasized the PPP’s resilience against any challenges posed by opponents.

Nawaz to meet Zardari, Bilawal to avoid confrontation with PPP

 Addressing the political landscape, Bilawal advised Nawaz Sharif to concentrate on Punjab and Lahore, discouraging alliances with parties in other provinces.

Acknowledging the difficulties faced by Nawaz Sharif in Lahore, Bilawal openly affirmed his role as the foreign minister in the last coalition government, expressing pride in his 15-month tenure.

He challenged PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif to consult Ishaq Dar on the basis of his performance as the country’s finance minister.

Highlighting the PPP’s commitment to fulfilling promises made by the late Benazir Bhutto, Bilawal defended the party against criticism for alleged failures. Pointing to the Thar Coal project as a successful public-private initiative, he emphasized its significance as a response to detractors.

Bilawal acknowledged the existence of poverty and unemployment in the country, attributing such perceptions to propaganda against the PPP’s commitment to a business-friendly environment. Pledging to address unemployment, Bilawal asserted that the PPP, upon assuming power, would tirelessly work to provide jobs for every unemployed individual.

Recognizing the need for three universities in Tharparkar, Bilawal announced plans for a hospital in the area, ensuring free medical treatment for the locals.
