Asad Umar arrested by FIA

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former party secretary general Asad Umar has been placed under arrest.

According to sources he was taken into custody from F-8 in Islamabad by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on alleged charges related to the cipher case.

Meanwhile, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi was produced in the court of Duty Magistrate Ehtisham Alam. 

Earlier, Qureshi was arrested by police from his residence in Islamabad for his alleged involvement in the cipher case, before being transferred to FIA headquarters. The FIA requested a 14-day physical remand for Qureshi.
