Anchor person Asma Shirazi joins Hum News

LAHORE: Senior journalist Asma Shirazi has joined Hum News as an anchor and analyst. She will host a primetime current affairs show titled “Faisala Aap Ka with Asma Shirazi” from Monday to Thursday at 8 pm. Her first show on Hum News will air on January 29.

Asma Shirazi has a rich and diverse experience in journalism, having worked with several leading news channels in Pakistan. She has covered major national and international events, such as the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, the 2006 Israel-Lebanon war, the 2007 state of emergency imposed by late General Pervez Musharraf, and the 2009 Taliban violence on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

She is also the first Pakistani journalist to win the prestigious Peter Mackler Award for Courageous and Ethical Journalism in 2014. She has also received several other awards and accolades for her journalistic skills and integrity.

Asma Shirazi has also hosted popular talk shows on parliamentary affairs and public interest. She is a member of The Coalition For Women In Journalism and a vocal advocate for human rights and democracy.
