11 women secure NA seats out of 280 contestants in General Election

ISLAMABAD: 11 out of 280 women who participated in the general election have won the National Assembly seats.

According to details, four independent candidates backed by Pakistan Tehreek Insaf, 4 Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, 2 Pakistan People Party and one women candidate won the National Assembly election on general seats.

According to details, 111 parties registered in the Election Commission had issued tickets to 280 women for the National Assembly election held on February 8, 2024.

The PTI-backed independent candidate Shandana Gulzar has won from NA-30 Peshawar by getting 78971 votes.

Similarly, PTI-backed independent candidate Aneeqa Mehdi from Hafizabad NA-67, defeated former federal minister Saiza Afzal Tarar by getting 208,943 votes.

Newly elected National Assembly to meet on Feb 29

PMLN ticket holder Nausheen Iftikhar has been re-elected MNA from NA-73 Sialkot by getting 112143 votes.

Another PMLN ticket holder Shazra Mansab from NA 112 Nankana Sahib has won the National Assembly election by defeating former Federal Interior Minister Ijaz Shah.

Meanwhile, PMLN Vice President Maryam Nawaz has also won the election of general seats for the first time by getting 83885 votes from NA 119.

PTI-backed Azad candidate Ayesha Nazir Jutt in National Assembly constituency 156 also won by securing 119,820 votes.

Tahmina Daultana of PMLN also secured a seat by getting 111196 votes in NA-158.

Similarly, former federal minister Zartaj Gul has been re-elected as Member of National Assembly from NA-185 DG Khan by getting 94881 votes.

From NA-202 Khairpur, Nafeesa Shah of Pakistan Peoples Party has won 146083 votes, similarly, Shazia Murri has got 156002 votes in NA-209 and MQM’s Asia Ishaq has won from NA-232 Karachi with 74672 votes.
