The concept behind these proposed business parks or facilitation centers is to create hubs that cater to foreign traders, fostering enhanced trade relationships and driving economic growth. During a recent meeting with prominent exporters and traders, including CEOs of various companies, the minister discussed his vision to tap into Pakistan’s export potential.
Dr Ejaz encouraged the exploration of every avenue to boost exports, suggesting immediate solutions such as establishing buying houses or utilizing rental buildings managed by the local business community. These measures could address the pressing need for facilitating foreign traders.
The minister’s strategic approach involves targeting specific countries based on their respective sectors to maximise the impact of Pakistan’s export efforts. He believes that tailoring the strategy to each country’s strengths will yield more favorable outcomes and strengthen Pakistan’s global trade ties.
Dr Ejaz assured full government support to the business community, addressing their concerns and challenges. He directed relevant authorities to provide comprehensive assistance through the ministry’s trade and investment officers stationed in foreign missions.
Efficient banking channels to facilitate seamless trade, particularly with Central Asian countries, were also discussed during the meeting.
