It is pertinent to note that in recent days, industrialists in Pakistan’s business hub, Karachi, had announced a complete shutdown of production to force the caretaker government to roll back the extraordinary increase in gas prices.

Businessmen have already displayed protest banners outside all trade associations demanding the government to fix gas rates at Rs1350 as approved by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) instead of Rs2,100 to Rs2,600 per MMBtu.
