Seven people including children injured in Peshawar blast today

PESHAWAR: A road side explosion was reported in Babu Ghari area on Warsak Road of Peshawar today.

Seven people including three children were injured in the blast, while the windows of nearby buildings were broken, police sources informed.

The explosion was caused by an IED, placed under a cement brick on the road, near a bank and a school on the road near Babu Garhi Chowk near Machni Gate Police Station.

The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment. More details will be provided on the report on the nature of the blast, said SP Warsak Muhammad Arshad.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar strongly condemned the blast and directed the relevant authorities to provide the best medical facilities to the children injured in the blast.

Caretaker chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Arshad Hussain Shah also condemned the explosion and asked the top police officials for a report on the blast.

Directing the hospital administration to provide timely and best medical assistance to the injured children, the interim CM expressed his best wishes for their speedy recovery.
